I’m in love.
Anonymous asked: If a school asks for your spring semester transcript before admitting you, what does this typically mean? Good or bad? I'm transferring from one college to another.
Hmm…I really don’t know. I think it could be either good or indifferent to your final decision. This proves that they are still interested in you, yet also could be standard in the college transfer process. Good luck!
Anonymous asked: How did you get more financial aid from Fordham? Did you call? I visited the Rose Hill campus yesterday for the preview and fell in love with it, but it's a bit steep for me even with their aid. Any tips on how I could possibly get more out of them? I'd love to go there in the Fall. Thanks!
Ok, so we tried and I believe that it was unsuccessful. However, if you call the financial aid office, they can give you pointers on what your next steps are! Good luck-hope to see you next year
Anonymous asked: hey, do u think it's hard to get into salve regina? what if my gpa at my community college isn't so good ? not soo good like a 2.5 not so good? i did GREAT in high school and also did GREAT in summer school courses i took at Harvard University. Community college, not so good. what do u think my chances are? any hope?
Hmm…I am pretty sure it is not very hard to get into Salve Regina. If you did so well in summer courses and high school, I assume you will be fine. But I would recommend trying to raise your CC GPA to a little bit closer to a 3.0. Hope this helps! Good luck
My parents and I are going to an admitted students weekend. In case anyone did not know, I have officially deposited and decided on Fordham University (Rose Hill)! I will run this blog until my first week of college, which begins August 25th. Thank you all for your support.
Anonymous asked: Hi so I'm really stressing about SATs. online I heard that they require a 1956 or higher and a gpa of 4.86 but I saw you posted that they require a 3.8-4.0 gpa and I currently have have a 4.11 gpa out of 6 or a 3.83 gpa out of 4 is it good ? It is my dream school and I plan on raising my gpa! Also do you have any tips on what I could do to better my chances ? I'm planning on taking the SATs twice and subject tests. I also do swim team, dance, and I did tennis, camp counselor,French club, and SADD
You sound a lot like me. Ok so I am assuming that you’re talking about NYU. In that case, they may say 4.86 GPA but that is weighted and you can never really figure that out since every single school weights differently (like at my school, no one has a 4.8). So…on a non weighted scale, a 3.83 sounds pretty good to me (that’s about that I have). I took the ACT four times, the SATs once, and two subject tests. I would try to get at least above a 2000 on the SAT and maybe a 30 or above on the ACT. Your ECs sound good so be sure to write an awesome essay to accompany it! Good luck!
daniel-de-sario asked: hey i was just wondering about the ACTs. do colleges count your science and reading as part of the composite or do they just focus on your math and english?
Yes, all five sections (including writing if you take it) are counted in your composite score
coolstoryj3ss asked: i have the same problem as you! i cant decide between NYU or fordham aaaaaahhhh
I think I’ll be going to Fordham because of money reasons but that’s cool too lol
Anonymous asked: Hi i was wondering if NYU puts a big emphasis on EC's or test scores? Thanks
I think that any top-tier school really tries to take a holistic approach to admissions by emphasizing all aspects of the application, but mostly academic record, test scores, ECs, and then the essay. NYU got around 40,000 applications this year so I wouldn’t be surprised if they, and other big name schools with thousands of applicants, focused on academic performance (grades and scores) first. ECs are a really cool part of the application because they allow you to be an individual and stand out, however, schools are first and foremost academic institutions. Hope this helps! :)
Will someone pay for me to go to NYU? Thanks message me if you can.
